The New England Patriots equaled their top unbeaten stretch since the Brady period as they overcame division rivals the New York Jets by 13 points in professional football

First-year standout Henderson led the way with three TDs as the New England squad claimed an eight-game winning streak for the initial occasion since star signal-caller Brady's final season with the franchise in 2019

Quarterback Maye threw for 281 passing yards and a TD, connecting on 25 passes from 34 throws

Victory extends the Patriots advantage at the top of the AFC East as they advanced to a 9-2 record, with the Jets bottom after dropping to two victories and eight defeats

The Jets had scored first at their home field with quarterback Justin Fields scoring a five-yard TD to cap the Jets' opening drive

But the home team fought back in the second period as the rookie ran in two seven-yard TDs before the ball carrier caught a pass from Maye at the back of the end zone halfway into the third quarter to make it 21-7

"That was a key occasion for him stepping up, and it's been great for him to keep gaining experience," Maye said of Henderson. "He desires to be excellent."

Fields connected with John Metchie in the latter part of the third quarter to narrow the deficit for the Jets but Andy Borregales kicked a two kicks in the final period as the home side sealed the triumph
