Formula 1 competitor Liam Lawson revealed he narrowly avoided a potentially deadly incident during Sunday's F1 event in Mexico when two safety personnel ran across the track right in his path
The concerning event took place on the third lap when track officials were observed on the circuit as Lawson was returning to the race following an quick visit to the pits to replace his damaged front wing

Moments later, Racing Bulls driver Lawson radioed to his team engineer saying: "Is this for real? Could you believe what happened? I nearly... ended their lives"

"After an occurrence at turn one, the race directors was notified that debris was present on the track at the critical section of that bend" stated the governing body
"During the third lap, marshals were alerted and put on alert to go onto the racing surface and remove the wreckage once every vehicle had gone by"
