Aircraft Twirls Wildly into Palm Fronds at Frequented Southern California Beach
An aircraft hovering over a popular coastal shoreline unexpectedly commenced twirling out of control, finally losing altitude and plunging into a row of palm trees as beachgoers observed.
Recordings posted online capture the helicopter starting to spin near the shoreline then falling towards the border of the beach, where it becomes wedged between palm trees and a staircase near the shoreline route.
Emergency Response Details
Emergency responders reported five people were transported to a medical facility involving two individuals who were in the helicopter and were “rescued from the debris” following the accident on Saturday.
Three individuals on the pavement were hurt. Specifics on their injuries were still under review.
The cause of the crash was not yet disclosed.
